The TM-T88vi from Epson is one of the most successful thermal POS printers in the world. The sixth generation, the TM-T88VI, remains true to the winning formula: with up to 350 mm/sec. it is not only faster than its predecessor, but rather, impresses with its enhanced tools, higher hardware performance, intelligent features and top equipment. Smart functions from the TM-Intelligent Series, such as Server Direct Print and ePOS (XML), were also integrated. With the TM-T88VI, receipts are produced in top quality (7 dots/mm, 180 dpi) and are perfectly optimized.
The direct thermal printer produces receipts with widths of 80 mm and 58 mm within seconds and delivers nearly unparalleled quality at the POS. It prints logos, graphics and images in greyscale â€â€œ coupons, vouchers and rebate promotions therefore become absolute eye-catchers. Its worry-free package of accessories and equipment though is absolutely convincing: test roll, switch and cable covers, spacer for 58 mm wide rolls and a power supply including cold-device cable (only with kit versions) are included standard with the thermal printer. Each TM-T88VI is now equipped with three interfaces, standard: USB-B, Ethernet and USB-A. The latter leaves you room for expansion, such as for the connection of a WLAN or Beacon adapter. Epson also offers diverse UIB system interfaces for subsequent installation, such as RS232, parallel and Powered USB, ensuring the necessary flexibility and investment security. The Bluetooth variant offers a direct connection and control via smartphone or tablet â€â€œ even with a simultaneous connection to a stationary POS system â€â€œ perfect for mobile POS applications.
The high reliability of its predecessor was yet again decisively enhanced through improved performance data. A MCBF of 70 million lines, an auto cutter made for 3 million clean cuts and a print head which supports a print length of 200 km stands for high-level reliability. Proven properties, such as the simple »Drop-In« paper roll exchange technique, naturally remain. The functional scope and performance were rigorously further developed, plus the cable guide was improved, giving it a clean look. The result is a device which is not affected by splash water, and whose crisp, modern appearance will impress for many years to come.
Epson's TM-T88V was the first thermal receipt printer worldwide to be awarded with the Energy Star rating for an energy-saving office device â€â€œ its successor also proudly features the seal. When in usage its energy consumption is extremely low: in stand-by mode it uses less than 1 Watt.
The TM-T88VI is, of course, fully backwards compatible, so nothing speaks against the joint usage of the TM-T88V with the IV. This allows for quick exchange without (or with minimal) costs for a new infrastructure. The maintenance function keeps a close eye on the device's operation and status, and when requested, it provides the number of line feeds, cuts and cumulative duration. With this data the POS software informs users which checkout is being frequented the most, for example; or, when the device needs to be cleaned, or have the cutter changed. This minimizes maintenance costs and prevents failures. Operation in other EU countries is also no problem â€â€œ the TM-T88VI speaks all the necessary languages.
