Zebra DS9908 2D presentation scanner

The DS9908 is IP52-certified and is impact-resistant from heights up to 1.5 m. The DS9908R is IP42-certified and is impact-resistant from 1.2 m. There are also numerous interfaces at your disposal: USB, RS-232, keyboard wedge and TGCS (IBM) 46XX over RS-485. The hybrid imagers of the DS9900 Series from Zebra convince with their performance and futuristic design. They truly bring the future of POS to retail, check-in areas and hospitality when it comes to rapid, extremely precise scanning. The DS9908R model also reads RFIDs. The imagers were designed for ambidextrous usage and hands-free scanning. Thus, in handheld mode they sit well in either hand and reliably scan in presentation mode when the user has his hands full. Switching between modes is very simple: a patented capacitive touch sensor, together with an accelerometer, ensure that the imager instantly changes from presentation mode to handheld mode once it is picked up. In presentation mode the scan radius is automatically adjusted so that nearby objects are not accidentally scanned. In handheld mode the adjustment automatically changes, so that objects within a radius of 62 cm are easily captured. The DS9900 Series is equipped with an 800 MHz microprocessor and Zebra's exclusive »PRZM Intelligent Imaging« technology for the best possible performance when reading 1D, 2D and Digimarc barcodes. The DS9900 Series reads (nearly) everything: electronic barcodes from smartphones, poorly readable, crumpled, faded, shiny, damaged barcodes and also ones with poor contrast. The reading rate is quite impressive: up to 610 cm/sec. in presentation mode.
